Burning the Midnight Oil

I have always been taken by fire.  The feel of it, the look of it, the movement of it.  Fire is so powerful.  It is mystical. Fire is one of the four elements and is known to forge will and determination. It is mighty and demands your attention.  When I would go camping I would sit in front of the fire for what felt like forever.  Just staring at it, looking into it’s magical gaze.

When I first saw fire dancing, I have been mesmerized.  I couldn’t believe it was happening.  I love dancing. I love fire. And now I see you can combine BOTH!? YES!

I took up some classes from a fire dancer in Portland by the name of Cherry.  Then life happened and I had to focus on more life changing things.  But I never stopped thinking about wanting to learn the art of fire dance.

With the feeling of wanting to add to my performance repertoire, now is the perfect time to pick up the practice poi and starting learning again. I bought some practice poi and fire wands for fleshing. I have already spent hours in watching videos, reading articles, and working with my tools.  It hasn’t even been 12 hours yet since I bought the tools. *wink*

I’ll be posting about my journey in learning this fabulous art so stay tuned!

The First of Many

I am very excited to FINALLY be getting my blog up and running again.

With that said, I have been working really hard to create new and fabulous routines for shows and my travels.  Travels which will bring me to Vegas, Portland, Los Angeles, and New Mexico.  If you would like to bring me to your city, please inquire within ;).

Stay tuned for more updates and glimpses into the world of SSJ!
